LESSON PLAN DAY 8
Key Content
Anchor Descriptor - A1.2.3.2: Use data displays in problem solving settings and/or to make predictions.
Eligible Content A1.2.3.2.1: Estimate or calculate to make predictions based on a circle, line, bar graph, measures of central tendency, or other representations.
What Will Students Do?
Students will participate in a classroom routine in my room called the Circle of Power and Respect (CPR). Students will begin by greeting each other. We will then move into a sharing of infographics for those who would like to share. Students will have the opportunity to show their work and explain why they chose their topic of focus. Our activity will center around brainstorming next steps. Students will think of actions that we as a group could perform to impact the injustices occurring in schools.
What Will Teachers Do?
Teachers will facilitate CPR. They will lead questioning and direct students to share. They will also lead the brainstorming activity and try to incite action from the students. They also should have printed the infographics to be shared during CPR.
From here, this unit could go where you take it. The hope is that you would continue to facilitate students sharing their infographics and new consciousness while also carrying on with instruction. All the while you should be making the decided upon action a reality.
